Network Storage and Backup.
The School has the right to limit network storage. When possible, the User will be informed when these limits have been exceeded, but when network function is in jeopardy, this may not be possible. The User is obliged to only use the folders provided for network storage (Desktop, Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites folders) in the User account.

It is the responsibility of the user to maintain a true backup copy of his/her data. Currently the storage limit for staff accounts is set at 3GB, but this is subject to change. Due to the nature of the laptop, the user is completely responsible for his/her own information. In order to provide a backup space, the user is encouraged to periodically connect to the teachers server, and copy files to the account folders found there.

• Desktop folder
• Documents folder
• Sites folder  (be careful)
• Library:stickies database
• Library:Preferences:Explorer:Favorites.html
• Library:Safari:Bookmarks.plist
• keep things in home folder
• Safari Bookmarks - export them then backup that file

Larger stuff - back up to CD or take risk by not backing up this information. Please do not backup this kind of information to the server.

• Movies folder - import, edit, export, delete. only temporary on HD, don't delete camera footage until project is done
• Music - backup in CD sized playlists
• Pictures - burn cd's in iPhoto to backup but only good on another Mac, OR for use in PC and Mac, export in folders (on Desktop, for example) and burn those folders, then delete from desktop
