The various
departments at ASFM have developed a spiral and coherent curriculum
using standards
and benchmarks. The main source for developing
the standards and benchmarks document is Content
Knowledge: A Compendium of Standards and Benchmarks for K-12
Education from Mid-continental Research for Education and
Learning (McREL) and Association
for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).

The
Grade 6 documents are a dynamic set of documents which are under
constant review to be sure they are meeting the needs of the educational
community.
The purpose
of the Grade 6 standards and benchmarks document is to clarify
and raise expectations, and to provide a
common set
of expectations for the entire educational community. The course syllabus
gives more detail as to how the course is actually being taught by
the current teacher(s). The course descriptions document contains a
brief summary of all courses at the grade level. |
