Art, Music & Spanish Classes Ask for information. Some classes are posted by staff, others can be found in the newspaper or are listed by Associations.
The school gives Spanish classes for one semester.

Keep an eye on ''Gente" in El Norte, especially for national holidays and festivals.
Sala Beethoven 367 on Gonzalitos sells tickets to piano concerts.
UNAL, across from Wal-Mart on Lazaro Cardenas has Thursday evening orchestras concerts for around 40 pesos.

Market and buffet-eating area. It sells Mexican crafts (artesania), plants, wooden furniture and pots. Many restaurants offer a "meaty" buffet for very little.
Located on the outskirts of the city. On Carretera Nacional, going to Santiago.
Plaza Mexico A pedestrian mall downtown. It has a lot of smaller shops. It usually celebrates all Mexican holidays with cultural events. Check it out in September for the Independence Day Festivals. Morelos and Padre Mier.

Tailors "Sastreria", many in area, look for signs and shop around for prices. One across from the Elementary School is frequented by the school staff, but can be more expensive. They do not speak English, Missouri right across from the Elementary School
Plants Called "Viveros". Some found in Garza Garcia, near HEB, it is best to go out toward 7-mile market  
School supplies
Generally, it is much easier to bring school supplies from home, as they can be expensive and difficult to find.
