Overview
iCal is a personal calendar application that lets you easily keep track of appointments, view multiple calendars at the same time, share your calendar information with others, and more. Here are some of the things you can do using iCal.

|

| Create events for each item on your calendar--personal appointments, meetings, or any activity. You can also set how often you want the event to occur, choose to have an alarm go off before the event occurs, or create an all-day event.
|

Invite people to your events. If the invitees are using iCal, they can add the event to their iCal calendars and easily receive any updates to the event information.

Keep track of your friends', family's, and colleagues' schedules. Everyone who shares the same user account on a computer can create a calendar and view the calendars created by other users either individually or all at the same time. You can even group related calendars together to help you manage the calendars in your Calendars list.

Share your calendar using the Internet. By publishing your calendar on the Internet, you can let people who aren't on the same computer see what you're up to. If you publish to .Mac, other people can view your calendar using a standard web browser. Calendars you've published appear in your Calendars list with a broadcast icon (it looks like short, curved sound waves) beside them.

Add calendars that have been published on the Internet to your Calendars list. You add published calendars to iCal by "subscribing" to them. Calendars you've subscribed to appear in your Calendars list with a curved arrow beside them.

If you have calendars on other devices (such as a Palm OS device or iSync-compatible phone), you can synchronize them with the calendars on your computer using iSync (in your Applications folder), so that each device has the latest information. If you have a .Mac membership, you can also synchronize calendars on multiple computers using the .Mac pane of System Preferences. For more information open iSync and choose Help > iSync Help.

You can do many other things with iCal, from setting an alarm before an event occurs to tracking a To Do list. To learn more, type your question in the search field above, or click iCal Help to return to the main Help window.
