Guidelines for Teacher’s Web Page

Every teacher has a homepage named index.htm or index.html in his/her Sites folder. A staff member is only responsible to maintain what is there in the template and to fill in content for any areas below marked with *** (3 asterisks).

This index should be maintained according to the specifications listed below.

CONTENT

• teacher’s name
• position (grade level & department)
• My Links
  • email
  • *** any other links that the teacher wants
• MSHS Links
  • as per template
• ELEM Links
  • as per template
• ASFM Links
  • as per template
• *** Background and classroom information. This content are in middle of page needs to be completed by the staff members that have linked pages. (all teachers and admin) This information should be approximately one screenful in length and can be more. For background, a general paragraph that would not need update (“I have been working here since 1991… instead of this is my 12th year…) Feel free to post announcements, bulletins, homework, class links, etc. No additional graphics on the front page, please.
• Picture - should be school photo.*** If staff member replaces this photo, it needs to be appropriate, solo head and shoulders picture of same size as original.
• Quote - *** please put a quote under your picture.

SETTINGS

• Three columns 1st column 150 pixels, second no width setting, and third column 120 pixels.
• Pre-defined navigation buttons (right corner)
• Background: background color is white
• Pre-defined footer.
• Font & Size
• Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif (except quote)
  • Left top corner, teacher’s name: size +2, bold, default color
  • Teacher’s position: size –1, bold, default color
  • Teacher’s quote: italic, font Times New Roman, size 2, red
  • center column information, size –1
  • Column titles: teacher links, MSHS links and ASFM links, table background color red #CC0000; font –1, bold, white
  • Link names: all lowercase, unless the name is an acronym
• Colors-
  • red #CC00000
  • gray #CCCCCC
• Page title: ASFM :: MSHS :: Firstname Lastname
• Picture: W=120 H=160
