October
2004.
My name is Maureen O'Connor and this is my third year teaching in Monterrey.
I teach first grade and I have been in Monterrey for about a two
years. The rich experiences and relationships I've developed make
it seem longer. From the minute you cross the border into Mexico
to the daily meetings at school, I have felt that the administration
at ASFM truly has my best interests as a teacher at heart. Life is
not easy in a different country, but ASFM makes everything manageable.
While letting you work independently, they are there when you have
a need. At ASFM, teachers go at full force and are more enthusiastic
than the average school staff. There is a lot of professional development
and we are able to develop the curriculum for our grade levels. The
kids are fun and eager to learn from you. Overall, my experience
has been very positive. Nothing is perfect, but life here is good. |
