What to expect in terms of the professional environment at ASFM.

If you’re reading this, then you’ve probably already heard that ASFM is a school where teachers work just as hard as they play.  If you value becoming a better teacher  --  and don’t mind the hard work -- then this is the place to be. ASFM offers an incredibly supportive environment where you will grow as a professional.

Having previously taught in a large, struggling urban public school, I can’t help but be impressed by the dedication and collegial nature of the staff.  Your team leader and grade level colleagues know the challenges faced by teachers new to ASFM.  They generously share their ideas, suggestions and encouragement throughout the year.

When it comes to improving student learning, weekly team meetings and after-school sessions are geared towards developing best teaching practices.  It is inspiring to work in a place where sound educational theory is put into effect.  If you are committed to teaching with dedicated, caring, professionals who are constantly looking for ways to improve their instruction, then you have found the right school.
