PE teacher
2007-present

January 2008.

I am new to ASFM and the teaching profession, and what a great place to start a career. The staff here are so supportive and helpful.

My arrival in Monterrey was beyond expectations: I was overwhelmed with the welcoming events going on during that first week. Come prepared for a busy and fun kick-off to the school year! Everyone was so accommodating, friendly and supportive that it made easing into life in a different culture occur so smoothly. The first couple of months will literally fly by.

ASFM teachers truly do work very hard. Expectations are high, and therefore performance is too and the result is a wonderful place to work and grow in the teaching profession.

Aside from school, the first half of the year has been packed full of various school-wide events, new friendships and travel opportunities to no end. There are so many things to see and do in Mexico, and a wealth of knowledge and ideas from those who have been here before. ASFM should really consider publishing our own version of "The Lonely Planet" travel guide! When considering your move, be ready to dive right in to a very active school and social life here in Monterrey.
