If you had told me a decade ago that I would still be at ASFM in ten years I would not have believed you. "Two years and out," I told my wife, Kimi. Didn't even want to enroll in the Master's program since it takes three years to complete.

After the first year we appreciated ASFM so much we decided to enroll in the Master's program, despite that meaning we'd need to be here for four years total. Well, four Master's degrees, two kids, and whole bunch of great experience later we're still here… but not permanently – and this time I mean it!

It's just hard to figure out it when's the best time to leave a great school – the administration really attends to the needs of the teachers and to what needs to be done to improve student learning. The curriculum is challenging and authentic; the staff is fun, active, highly motivated, and professional; the technology and tech support are admirable; resources are ample; the physical plant is beautiful; and the students are warm, empowered and as motivated as any I've ever worked with. Our own young kids love it here and are happy to be ASFM Eagles. I just know we get around to leaving here… someday.
