Beau Cain

I have been a teacher for seventeen years, and I have a Bachelors degree in English and psychology and Masters degrees in education and library sciences. I love to read, to write, to teach, and to learn. What better place for me to work than in a library?! My office door is always open, so if I’m not already out on the library floor, please come on in!

Jazmina Fernandez

The first and friendliest face you’ll see in the library, Jazz runs the circulation desk and just about everything else in the library. She’s where the librarian goes when he wants answers on where to find something!

Angel Ortiz

Angel maintains the Spanish collection, helps with circulation, and brings a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm to our library programs, such as the book club. He has a degree in Spanish literature, and his desk is right on the library floor. If there is anything he can do for you just let him know!

Library Facilities
The library collection consists of over 17,000 books, audiobooks and videos. Our collection size (average number of items per student) and collection age (average age of item) are in the "recognized" category of the standards we have adopted from the United States. Within the 2010-2011 school year we plan to be at the highest -- or "exemplary" -- level in both categories.
We have ample room for three full classes at a time. Students and teachers can choose to access online resources on our 26 iMac desktop computers or to check one of the 26 wireless MacBook laptops and use them in one of several areas: our whole group instruction area, booths that are idea for small groups, carrells for individual study, or our comfortable couches and winged-back chairs.
We can handle student and staff copying and printing needs.
We provide a wide array of events and programs to promote independent reading and nurture a culture of literacy in our learning community, including book fairs for both English and Spanish books, Battle of the Books competitions, book clubs, and many others.
