Summer School Program
Summer School Goals
The goals of the Summer School Program are twofold:
- to provide a means for students to gain credit for one or two previously failed courses at the MS/HS Campus
- to provide an opportunity for students to receive additional instruction and reinforcement in one or two courses
Who must attend?
Students in grade six to nine who have failed one or two courses during the school year must attend a summer school session for each failed course.
What is included in the Summer School Program?
- Summer School Course (includes text, exam, teacher)
- Projects (all types, includes computer if needed, grading)
- Exam (all levels, includes textbook rental if needed)
Course Content
Summer school teachers will use a study guide, extraordinary exam and answer key prepared by the regular school year subject teachers. Summer school teachers may or may not be specialists in the subject.
Class Size
Class sizes will vary depending on enrollment and staffing. To make summer school most effective for students, classes will be limited to 12 or fewer students. Usually, an average of 6 students is required to create a summer school class. Some mixed level classes may be created.
Successful Results
A student passing an extraordinary exam will receive a grade of 70%.

ALTERNATIVES TO SUMMER SCHOOL
Grade 6-9
Only when any subject does not have a sufficient number of students, or an appropriate teacher to form a summer school session, parents will contact an individual tutor to use the study guide to prepare students for the extraordinary exam. A minimum of 20 hours of tutoring is required for each subject. A list of possible tutors can be picked up in the office at La Huasteca Campus. Parents are asked to pay tutors directly. Tutoring may not be done on campus.
High School/Bach
Students or parents must agree to tutors according to similar conditions above in any subject as they prepare for extraordinary exams.
Fees (Alternatives to Summer School)
Tutoring Fee: to be determined by parent and tutor
Exam Administration: All Grades 6-12/Bach III.
