IMPORTANT DATES BY GRADE

PRESCHOOL AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

August 7th

  • Nursery students meet their teacher and drop off materials. Visits will be scheduled individually for each family. This information will be sent to you the first week in August.
  • Carpool signs picked up.

August 7th

August 8th, Tuesday ~ Supply Drop-off Day for Students in Pre-Kinder to Grade 5

  • Visit their classroom to meet the teacher and drop off school materials. See schedule below. This information will be also posted on our home page.
  • Carpool signs picked up.
  • Scheduled time for each family based on the first letter of the student’s last name:
    • 8:00: G, J, K, N, Q, X, Y, Z
    • 9:00: B, I, M, O, P, U, V, W
    • 10:00: A, C, E, F, H
    • 11:00: D, L, R, S, T
  • Teachers will inform you of where children will be picked up on the first day of school.

August 9th, Wednesday ~ First Day of School

  • Nursery students will be coming to school at 9:00 a.m. on the first day of school to give parents the opportunity to walk their children to the classroom. Drop-off will take place at the main entrance. Dismissal will be at 1:00 p.m.
  • Starting on Thursday, August 10th, Nursery students will start school at the regular time (8am).
  • Pre-Kinder to Grade 5 students need to be on campus by 7:50 a.m.

Half Day for Common Assessments (K-5)

Two out of three of these days will be a half day for children in K-5. Dismissal will be at 11:15 each day. One of the three days, families whose last name begins with this letter will stay the entire day to meet with teachers regarding individual language abilities, therefore, no half day on this one day. This link explains it all. Here are the letters that correspond to each day.

  • August 21: A, F, G, K, R, W, X
  • August 22: D, E, H, M, O, T, V
  • August 23: B, C, I, J, L, N, Q, P, S, U, Y, Z

PowerSchool (Student Information System)

PowerSchool Access for Parents & Students will be disabled as July 3rd and will be TURNED ON as of Aug. 9th (1st day of class) for students that have picked up schedules ONLY.

Pre-Kinder to 5th Grade

  • Location: Multipurpose Room
  • Who: New parents in grades Pre-Kinder to Grade 5
  • This is an important information-gathering event that we highly recommend attending.

6th Grade to 12th Grade


Week of August 1 - August 3 (Tuesday – Friday)

  • All new students in Middle or High School, who have not completed their course requests, please bring a copy of official transcripts from previous institution and plan to meet with the Counseling Department at the MS/HS Campus.
  • Counselors for grades 6-12 will be available for schedule advising from 1:00-3:30 PM, Monday August 1 –Thursday August 3
      • Grades 6/8: Ms. Tania Tiquet
      • Grades 7/9: Ms. Jane Wong
      • Grades 10-12: Ms. Silvia Venegas and Ms. Sierra Anderson

August 7, Monday 9:00-11:00 a.m. New Student Orientation 6th-8th grades

Students meet at the Black Box (only students new to ASFM).

August 7, Monday 1:30-3:30 p.m. New Student Orientation 9th-12th grades

All new students should attend. Schedules will be distributed. Students are required to bring their own laptop for this session. Students in Grade 9-12 need to bring their graphing calculator (TInSpire). Only students, not parents, should attend.

UNIFORMS

Uniforms Store Summer Hours
The ASFM Uniform store will be open during our summer months of June and July. From June 12th - August 8th the store is open from Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm. Starting August 9th, the store will open in their regular schedule from 7:00am - 6:00pm. Go to Uniforms web page.

Uniforms Massive Sale
PESA will hold a massive sale in the Elementary Cafeteria on August 7th and 8th from 8am to 4pm.
