Career Day

ASFM Career Day is a day in which 10th and 11th grade students learn about different careers.

This event brings together students and professionals in different areas, creating opportunities for students to listen and ask questions in their areas of interest.

Career Day helps ASFM students to guide their course selection and career-planning efforts.

During Career Day, we organize small groups of students in classrooms where professionals talk to them about their majors or career paths for 25 minutes and students have the chance to ask questions.

Live Curious, Go Beyond

We believe that all students can be engaged in an educational experience that compels them to "Live Curious and Go Beyond" as they discover their own “Moonshots”. The Live Curious, Go Beyond Technology and Innovation in Education Conference strives to bring that to reality.

Live Curious, Go Beyond started in 2015 led by ASFM educators who wanted to redefine what the professional development meant at ASFM. From there the event grew to involve the external community. Last year 410 participants from over 23 different schools attended.

This is a community conference event without borders, where educators, parents, administrators and even students attend. There is a mindfulness section, high tech STEM section and sessions focus on pedagogy and different topics around parenting and personal growth.

The need and applicability for design are everywhere. From organizational change to innovation development to curriculum delivery to community service, design can be the process for impact and change. Participants will actively engage with the a process which honors the user experience and provides them with the tools necessary to develop solutions that matter.

Conferences are held every February at ASFM.

Eagle Parent University

Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle!

ASFM has created Eagle Parent University (EPU) as a parent university program that supports lifelong learning, focused on personal growth and understanding of child development. Through this program we offer our parent community educational opportunities within six strands: Parenting Awareness, Intelectual Growth & Development, Student Learning in the 21st Century, Wellness & Health, Social Emotional Development, and Digital Citizenship.

At EPU we believe in lifelong learning. We know that eagles are constantly in pursuit of knowledge for either personal or professional reasons. Therefore, EPU invites our Alumni to participate in our educational events of their interest. Below you will find a menu of the upcoming events that might be of your interest. Events in 2019-2020 will be announced soon.

If you are interested in attending any of these events please contact: Marcela Castillo, Alumni and Development Coordinator.

With a Caring Heart,

Score for a Cure

Score for a Cure is a 7v7 soccer tournament, organized by an alumni group led by Lissy Giacomán, Evy Padilla and Emma Purón. This tournament is organized to raise funds for the Alianza Anticáncer Infantil and commemorate Baby and Bibi Lopez Chapa’s lives, two ASFM alums who were part of the girls soccer and basketball varsity teams and unfortunately lost the battle to cancer.

ASFM hosts the tournament on August each year. Join the ASFM community and support a good cause! It doesn't matter if you haven't played soccer in a while (or ever!) The tournament has different leagues to divide teams depending on their level of play and gender.
