During this webinar, Dr. Rodolfo Treviño M.D. will inform our parent community of the recent safety measures parents need to follow to prevent an outbreak at school, considering the DELTA variant is a new COVID - 19 threat. World health organizations have updated prevention measures based on recent research of the new DELTA variant. Following these measures will be crucial to maintain the schools open during these challenging times. In addition, Dr. Treviño will address the importance of strengthening the immune system and recognizing our general health status. Knowing how to keep our bodies healthy is extremely important in order to successfully  face the new DELTA variant. This information will help families stay healthy and prevent outbreaks at home and school.

Durante este seminario web, el Dr. Rodolfo Treviño informará a nuestra comunidad de padres de familia sobre las recientes medidas de salud que las familias deben seguir para prevenir un broe en la escuela, considerando que la variante DELTA es una nueva amenaza de COVID -19. Las organizaciones sanitarias a nivel mundial han actualizado las medidas de prevención basadas en investigaciones recientes de la nueva variante DELTA. Seguir estas medidas será crucial para mantener las escuelas abiertas durante estos tiempos difíciles. Además, el Dr. Treviño abordará el tema de la importancia de fortalecer el sistema inmunológico y reconocer nuestro estado de salud general. About Dr. Rodolfo Treviño: He studied at the School of Medicine at the University of Monterrey, with specialty studies in Pediatrics initially in Monterrey and then again Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Medicine at Texas Children's Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX. Master of Quality in Patient Health and Safety at Northwestern University, Chicago Ill.

Head of the Pediatric Emergency Service and Director of the Pediatric Department of Hospital San José, Founding Member and Director of the Institute of Pediatrics of Hospital Zambrano Hellion. Currently starting a new pediatric practice outside the hospital.

Current projects include:

  • Artificial Intelligence for the diagnosis of diseases
  • Gene therapy for the treatment of metabolic diseases
  • Implementation of an electronic system for the evaluation of development in children
  • Participates actively in social assistance projects.

Sobre el Dr. Rodolfo Treviño: Estudio en la Escuela de Medicina en la Universidad de Monterrey, con estudios de especialidad en Pediatría inicialmente en Monterrey y después nuevamente Pediatría y Medicina Crítica Pediátrica en Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston TX.  Maestría en Calidad en Salud y Seguridad de los Pacientes en Northwestern University, Chicago Ill. 

Fue Jefe del Servicio de Urgencias de Pediatría y Director del Departamento de Pediatría del Hospital San José, Miembro Fundador y Director del Instituto de Pediatría del Hospital Zambrano Hellion.  Actualmente iniciando una nueva práctica pediátrica fuera del hospital.

Entre los proyectos actuales destacan:

  • Inteligencia Artificial para el diagnóstico de enfermedades
  • Terapia genética para el tratamiento de enfermedades metabólicas
  • Implementación de un sistema electrónico para la evaluación del desarrollo en niños

About Pilar Cortes
Pilar is a Developmental Psychologist and family consultant who graduated with a Master's Degree in Developmental Psychology and Education from Boston College. For the last fifteen years, Pilar has focused her work on educating teachers and parents on marriage, emotional intelligence, and child and adolescent psychology. For more than ten years, Pilar has designed and taught courses, conferences, and workshops for parents and teachers in Mexico, the United States, Brazil, and Spain based on the most relevant and current studies. Pilar has been married for 19 years and is the mother of 2 children, ages 10 and 13.

Sobre Pilar Cortes
Pilar es psicóloga del desarrollo y consultora familiar graduada de la maestría en Psicología Aplicada al Desarrollo y la Educación en Boston College. Pilar ha enfocado su trabajo de los últimos 15 años en educar a personal docente y padres de familia sobre matrimonio, inteligencia emocional y psicología infantil y del adolescente. Durante más de diez años Pilar ha diseñado e impartido cursos, conferencias y talleres dirigidos a padres de familia y maestros en México, Estados Unidos, Brasil y España, siguiendo una línea científica, basándose en los estudios más relevantes y recientes. Pilar está casada desde hace 19 años y es mamá de 2 niños, de 10 y 13 años.

Description: During this session, parents will have the opportunity to ask Barbara questions regarding their experiences related to these uncertain times. Sharing will be done in a confidential environment, so parents can feel safe to express their feelings, concerns, and experiences. Throughout the session, Barbara will offer practical strategies that will lead parents to improve their family's quality of life.

About Barbara:
Barbara is a psychologist with a Master's Degree in Neuro-educational Psychology. She has studied various certified courses in family therapy, mediation, human development, trauma intervention, and attention to “at-risk” children and adolescents. She is a certified therapist in play therapy by The Theraplay Institute. Barbara has a private practice and collaborates as a therapist at the Mental Health Institute of the State of Nuevo León.

Coaching Sessions Description: Participants will continue their personal growth and development during these sessions as they apply conscious parenting strategies learned in the previous course. They will have the opportunity to share their challenges, discuss child behavior, and talk about their role as parents. At the same time, Cristy will offer practical strategies and parenting advice to strengthen family bonds and become the best version of yourself.

About Mr. Sheldon Guenther:  This is Mr. Guenther’s fourth year as Head of Secondary Campus/HS Principal at ASFM. Prior to coming here, he has worked in schools around the world, including Canada, Tanzania, China, Venezuela, Colombia, and Argentina. He was the Head of Secondary at St. Andrews’ Scots School in Buenos Aires before coming to Monterrey. He has a Masters Degree in Education Curriculum: Technology and Design.  He loves literature, sports, and spending time with his family.

Hiking Adventure at Chipinque

Event Description: Join us for a hiking adventure at Chipinque Ecological Park! Chipinque is a stunning park in forested surroundings known for its nature trails and mountainside observatory. We will hike the Empalme trail during this adventure, located at the end of the last parking lot. Through this 3.6 km trail, you will be able to observe the nature that surrounds this park. Our goal is to reach the photo place Puerto del Aire, admire the breathtaking views, and take family photos. We will then walk back to the starting point.

Make sure you pay for your ticket in advance and pack a backpack with a water bottle and a healthy snack! You will be required to wear your facemask; a cap and sunblock are highly recommended. Lets wear red and white to identify each other!

Descripción del evento:  ¡Únete a una aventura de senderismo en el Parque Ecológico Chipinque! Chipinque es un impresionante parque en un entorno boscoso conocido por sus senderos naturales y su observatorio en la ladera. Caminaremos por el sendero Empalme durante esta aventura, ubicado al final del último estacionamiento. A través de este sendero de 3.6 km, podras observar la naturaleza que rodea este parque. Nuestro objetivo es llegar al observatorio Puerto del Aire, admirar las impresionantes vistas y tomar fotos familiares. Luego caminaremos de regreso al punto de partida.

¡Asegúreate de pagar tu boleto por adelantado y empacar una mochila con una botella de agua y un refrigerio saludable! Se pedirá que usen su tapabocas y se recomienda una gorra y bloqueador solar. Hay que llevar ropa roja y blanca para poder identificarnos!

Course Description: With nearly 500 million speakers, Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world. During this full-immersion course, you will have the opportunity to learn and practice Spanish as a second language. Throughout the lessons, you will develop the ability to converse and face everyday situations. Each week a different topic will be addressed to expand your vocabulary and learn basic grammar skills. These topics will be related to daily experiences, making this course practical and fun!

Dear ASFM Entrepreneur,

Welcome to the fourth edition of the ASFM Holiday Market. Thank you for your interest in applying as an entrepreneur for this event.

ASFM would like to continue supporting our educational community of entrepreneurs.

Our hopes are high this year! We would like to offer our community an on-campus marketplace and online catalog. If the health restrictions allow it, we will have an on-campus Holiday Market on Tuesday, November 23rd. The catalog will be promoted through various authorized ASFM communication channels starting November 23rd until December 17th.

For the online catalog, we will create a Google presentation, published in a PDF format, and advertise on the EPU webpage, the Alumni webpage, and the Alumni platform from November 4th through December 17th. We will use ASFM's communication channels to promote the Holiday Market, and you will be able to share the PDF with Friends & Family. Sales will be done directly through your contact information.

This year, the Holiday Market would like to support our students' community service initiatives. We will kindly ask each participant to donate $250 pesos to the following HS Character Education initiative. If you wish, you can donate more money. Please read the information below:
The Character Education program partners up with neighboring public elementary schools to deepen students´ understanding of the global issue of education in order to develop and execute effective action projects. With the hope to improve the quality of education, we are supporting the Jose Eleuterio González Elementary School in Santa Catarina. The school currently has obsolete non-functioning windows. We are right now working on improving the classrooms on the first floor, and we hope that with your contribution we can start reaching our fundraising goal to work on completing the entire building. The total cost of this project is 372,000 pesos. Please click on the following link to donate!  Your donation is truly appreciated.

To participate as an entrepreneur, please fill out the following form. Before we publish your product, we need to go over the information shared and give you recommendations as required. Be advised that product sales approval is based on the ASFM vision and mission. Once the products are approved, we will contact you via email to ask for the donation proof (screenshot of donation). After receiving proof of donation, we will send you the Google presentation where you will be able to include your product information.


Please be assured that if the health protocols stated by the government change within the following weeks, allowing in-school activities, we will contact you to participate in the on-site ASFM Holiday Market.

Event Description: Join us for the first ASFM Golf Tournament! This golfing event has been designed for fathers with their son or daughter to spend quality time as they play in a 9 - Hole A Go-Go Golf Tournament. Teams are based on categories and handicap; Adults, Juniors (children 13 - 18 years old), and Minors (children 6 - 12 years old). The golf tournament starts at 3:00 pm, please arrive an hour prior to the starting time. As players hit the ball, family members can enjoy refreshments and sports activities located on the tennis courts and playground. Dinner will be served at 7:00 pm, concluding the event at 7:30 pm with an Awards Ceremony for the first three places in each category. Hole in One gets a free golf bag!
